About us

An NGO shaped by women’s voices and practical action.

Wanawake exists to help women, children, and families access essential services, build resilience, and participate in decisions that affect their futures.

Our story

Built with communities, not simply for them.

Wanawake began from the belief that sustainable humanitarian and development work must be locally trusted, inclusive, and accountable. Our approach combines field presence, technical partnerships, and careful listening.

Across all programs, we place women and young people at the center because their leadership improves health, protection, food security, peace, and climate resilience for entire communities.
